17/3-24/3/16

¡Hola!

Hello!
Before I continue further, I want to address a few things:
First, I will most likely be updating this blog every other week instead of every week. Yes, I know you’re all probably heartbroken that you won’t get to read a new, hilariously clever, blog post from me updating you on all the exciting happenings in Arcadia’s Spanish Club. But, schoolwork continues to be a constant nuisance in my life and demands my immediate attention, like a small child. (That, and I may or may not have found an animated web series that also kept me a bit preoccupied… I also may or may not have watched over 50 episodes of said series this past weekend...) Not only this, but I was adventuring through the beautiful city of Istanbul during spring break and the whole preparation + time zone switch had me out of blog-writing commission for awhile. But never fear! For I am back and better than ever to tell you all about the new and exciting happenings in Spanish Club!
After a rousing discussion over font sizes and color, we finally came to an epic conclusion on what the club t-shirts will look like! Every member will be recognized, and despite the initial struggle, we were able to decide on a shirt that will proudly display how unique and culturally diverse we are. (In addition to revealing that we are not a club of graphic designers…) But all jokes aside, the shirt looks great, so if you see someone wearing it around campus sometime in the next week, feel free to ask them about it. Maybe even get a chance to practice some Spanish, who knows?
Last week, the club also had a small “viewing party” of some skits that a few members had been working on. All of them have since been uploaded to YouTube and will supplement vocabulary and grammar lessons in Spanish 101 and 102 classes. (To check out our fantastic acting/directing skills, you can find a playlist of all the videos here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjkwAutYHE4&list=PLQ9g5fSFgGzu3D827eiarzwlW9OWTerYY)
We also started watching the film, “La gran familia española” which we will probably finish at this week’s upcoming meeting. If you have any interest, feel free to stop by Easton 143 at 6:30. We’ll be there with t-shirts and fun conversation.
